Donald R. Carter is founder of Baptist Temple and has served as Pastor since the church was organized in 1975. Pastor Carter graduated cum laude from Piedmont Bible College. He met and married Betty McNeil while in college and she too is a graduate of Piedmont. Betty has been faithful companion in the ministry and a servant to our church family.
They have two children, Lisa and David. Lisa is a graduate of Piedmont Bible College and Appalachian University and is married to Nathan Rasey. She is a reading specialist at King Elementary School. Nathan serves as principle at North Stokes County High School. They have two children, Madison Kate and Meredith Grace. David is also a graduate of Piedmont Bible College and serves as Director of Church Ministries at Baptist Temple. 9/11 Memorial Services and The Alamance War Memorial is two examples of their involvement in their community.
Pastor Donald R. Carter
David Carter is our youth pastor and has been on the staff for 21 years. He is a graduate of Piedmont Bible College, which is now Piedmont International University. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Youth Ministries.
David is very active in the total ministry of the church including: Sunday School, AWANA, Drama, visitation and pulpit supply. He also speaks in youth conferences, camps and revival meetings. He is also involved in Hope International Ministries founded by Dave Kistler. This ministry seeks to reach souls for Christ through tent revivals, men’s conferences, missions and seminars.
David is married to Brenda Slagell and they have one son, Carson Ray age 6. Brenda is involved with the youth and music ministry. Through Dave’s leadership several young people have been influenced to serve in ministries outside of their home church. He is a valuable asset to the ministry of Baptist Temple.
